West on West

Diana West does justice to Lieutenant Colonel Allen West (no relation) in her brief article on him.  Visit  that site for the pithiest sound-bite (in the video at 1:40) on Islam and violence I've ever heard from the mouth of a politician (but only because I don't speak Dutch).  Someone who mentions Charles Martel in the context of the Islamic threat clearly knows a little something about the subject.  Having fought on the front lines doesn't hurt either (although I hasten to mention I favor an immediate pullout of US forces from all Muslim countries).

He is a vehement (though indirect) critic of affirmative action on his brief website, as well as having sensible criticism for mass immigration.  Assuming he favors English as our official language, that makes him three for three on the National Question as defined by Peter Brimelow.

I'll go out on a limb and endorse Allen West for Congress right now.  Men like him could rekindle my interest in the GOP.

Addendum: Erich the Hesperado has a post on the very same gentleman, which he has followed up with other material giving the Grand Homme of Islam Criticism, Robert Spencer, a rap on the knuckles for taking so long to recognize the significance of Col. West's campaign.
